We will take CO Highway 14 west to Walden. This scenic route follows the Cache la Poudre River through the stunning Poudre Canyon. The road winds its way through the canyon and over Cameron Peak before emerging into the open valley of North Park where you become surrounded by rolling hills, ranches, and meadows. Continuing on Highway 14 takes us to the small community of Walden.
From Walden, we take CO Highway 125 north to the Wyoming border. The scenery along this route is beautiful, with views of the Medicine Bow Mountains to the west. Just across the border is the small town of Riverside, Wyoming where we will have lunch at the Bear Trap Café.
After lunch in Riverside, we will continue north to Highway 130, which takes us over the Snowy Range Pass with an elevation of over 10,000 feet. The views from the top of the pass are incredible, and on a clear day, you can see for miles in all directions.
Descending the pass, we’ll come into Laramie where we’ll head south on Highway 287 back to Ted’s Place where the ride will end.
