Southern Exposure Ride to the Springs

Northern Colorado IMRG taking a break in Parker, CO

On Saturday, we logged roughly 227 miles on an awesome day of riding! For our Southern Exposure Ride, we kicked things off at the Longmont Park-N-Ride, just off Firestone Blvd, and headed south toward Colorado Springs via E-470 and Highway 83. After a short break in Parker, we cruised through Franktown and rolled into the Springs.

It was extremely warm out with temperatures eventually climbing into the triple digits! But it was still such a fun day of riding with great friends.

Our first major stop was at Pikes Peak Indian Motorcycle, where we browsed the showroom, and caught up with the friendly folks there. Once we worked up an appetite, we headed over to Rudy’s BBQ to fuel up on some seriously delicious smoked barbecue, and to cool off.

With our bellies full, we started our trek back home, mostly backtracking our morning route. However, we mixed things up on the return leg by taking a detour off E-470 up Highway 85 toward Fort Lupton instead of heading straight back to I-25.

Unfortunately, Randall and Karen’s bike decided to act up for the second weekend in a row and needed a tow back home from the Springs. But hey, I guess it’s all part of life’s journey, and the adventure of riding!
