A fantastic full day on the road with an awesome crew! We logged 267 miles on the Granby Loop Ride and had a blast from start to finish.
We kicked off early with KSU at 8:30 AM from Ted’s Place, heading up Poudre Canyon with a quick stop at Cameron Pass. From there, we rolled into Walden to top off the tanks before heading south toward Granby. We caught a few light sprinkles along the way, which was a welcome relief from the midday heat!
After a great lunch at the Maverick Grille in Granby, we continued south through Fraser and Winter Park, taking on the switchbacks over Berthoud Pass. Even though Ride Command navigation was up to its usual antics, despite the latest firmware update, we successfully navigated east of Idaho Springs and onto Central City Parkway without ever touching I-70. That turned out to be a massive win, as I-70 was gridlocked from an accident.
We grabbed another fuel-and-rest stop before passing through Black Hawk and heading up to Nederland for another much needed break at the Park-n-Ride. As the heat kept rising, we pushed on through Ward, taking Lefthand Canyon to bypass Boulder entirely, then hitting CO-66 into Longmont. We officially wrapped up around 6:30 PM at the Longmont Walmart.
Big shoutout to this entire group! Everyone rode exceptionally well, kept a tight, clean formation the whole 267 miles, and made leading and sweeping an absolute breeze. Looking forward to the next one!
