Day 2: A scenic road trip through the heartland. The Northern Colorado IMRG traveled from McPherson, Kansas, to Springdale, Arkansas. After a morning of highway riding, we were relieved to exit the interstate and take more scenic backroads. Highlights from the trip:
- The day started with an unexpected road closure that led to a bit of off-roading on a dirt and gravel road.
- Upon entering Missouri, we were treated to a delicious lunch served by a robot waiter at Guadalajara Mexican Grill in Joplin.
- As we neared Arkansas, the scenery changed to winding, tree-lined country roads, perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts.
- The ride took us past the historic War Eagle Mill and across its one-lane bridge, a well-known local landmark.
- A classic moment of a chicken crossing the road provided a laugh, a welcome bit of humor after a long day of riding.
The day ended with our arrival at our luxurious Airbnb near Beaver Lake, our home base for the next several days as we explore the scenic Ozarks.
