Northern Colorado IMRG Road Officers

Northern Colorado IMRG Red Feather Lakes Motorcycle Ride
Northern Colorado IMRG Pre-Ride Briefing Before Starting Out On Another Awesome Group Ride Together

The Northern Colorado Indian Motorcycle Riders Group (IMRG) Road Officers make our group rides possible. The NoCo IMRG Road Officers assist with all Chapter motorcycle rides, and help to keep them organized. They plan ride routes, provide a pre-ride overview, and lead the group ride with focus on rider safety.  The NoCo IMRG Road Officers are Chapter member volunteers who are trained by our Safety Director.

For each organized NoCo IMRG Chapter ride, there is a Lead Road Officer.  The Lead Road Officer will pre-plan the group ride (including route and any scheduled stops).  Before the ride, the Lead Road Officer will do a pre-ride briefing with all the group riders covering the planned route and any stops, go over riding formation, and review hand-signals.

While on the group motorcycle ride, the Lead Road Officer will regulate the riding speed, indicate the appropriate riding formation (staggered, single file), indicate when to do lane changes, and make decisions on when it is appropriate to stop the group for any reason.

The Lead Road Officer works with an assigned Sweep Road Officer for the organized group ride.  The Sweep Road Officer is the last motorcycle, and helps to keep the group together and to ensure all riders arrive at the destination safely.  The Sweep Road Officer aides in lane changes by occupying the new lane first, effectively blocking traffic, and allowing the group in front to move over to the lane.  The Sweep Road Officer will stop and assist any rider needing help, and if necessary, remain with the rider until help has arrived.

Northern Colorado IMRG Road officers do a great deal of planning and preparation to put together a group motorcycle ride.  While on the road, they work diligently to lead safe group rides.  These efforts significantly help to ensure the overall group motorcycle riding event goes as smoothly as possible, and to make sure the event is enjoyable for all the riders in the group.

See Going on Northern Colorado IMRG Group Rides for more details on participating in NoCo IMRG motorcycle rides.
