DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Taos Red River Road Trip \nCalling all Taos road trippers!  The adventure is almost here!  This is a reminder that we’ll be hitting the road soon\, so get your bikes prepped and ready to roll. \nGear up for a thrilling escape to the heart of northern New Mexico!  This 2-night\, 3-day adventure (June 8th-10th) with the Northern Colorado IMRG will take you on an unforgettable journey through breathtaking landscapes and charming mountain towns. \n  \nThe Ride: \nChallenge Rating: This road trip is rated at a difficulty level of 4-5 (1-easiest\, 5-hardest). \nTravel:  Prepare for exhilarating climbs\, sweeping switchbacks\, and the undeniable thrill of conquering mountain passes requiring good technical riding skills.  There will be long riding distances\, which will require good stamina (don’t worry though\, there will be plenty of rest stops).  Interstate riding will be kept minimal\, but there will be higher speeds on highways. \nMileage: Saddle up for approximately 333 miles each way (to/from Taos)\, with minimal interstate riding and plenty of scenic highways. \n  \nOur Basecamp: \nTaos Motor Lodge (877-644-0969):  We’ll be staying at this centrally located lodge\, offering a quintessential Taos vibe and budget-friendly comfort.  While it may not have a pool or spa\, its charm and affordability make it the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure. \nLooking for luxury? DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Cinnamon Roll & Peak-to-Peak Ride \nGet ready for a day filled with mountain magic and sugary goodness!  On this ride we’ll be cruising through stunning scenery on our way to Glen Haven\, a quaint mountain town nestled amongst the pines.  Our first stop?  The legendary Glen Haven General Store\, renowned for having the most incredible cinnamon rolls in all of Colorado.  Imagine\, warm\, gooey rolls bursting with cinnamon flavor – the perfect fuel for a day of adventure. \n  \nAfter indulging in these delightful pastries\, we’ll hop back on our bikes and climb up to Estes Park nestled on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park.  Soak in the beauty of the Rockies as we ride\, with fresh mountain air filling our lungs and breathtaking vistas unfolding before us. \n  \nWe will begin our ride on the Peak-to-Peak as we head south out of Estes.  This famed route winds its way through the heart of the Rockies\, offering unparalleled panoramic views.  We will pass the Chapel on the Rock in Allenspark and make our way to Ward where we will turn off onto Lefthand Canyon.   After zig zagging through the Canyon\, we’ll head back on Ute Highway and end the ride at the Walmart at the corner of Hwy 287 & 66. \n  \nThis 90 mile ride is rated between Level 4-5 (1=easiest\, 5=hardest) with lots of mountainous curves and a couple of switchbacks (as we climb into Estes).  Total saddle time will be around 3 hours with elevation change from 5K feet to 9K feet. \n  \nSee map for the planned route. \n  \nMeetup Location: Jax West in Loveland (2665 W Eisenhower Blvd\, Loveland) \nMeet Time: 8:30 a.m. / Kickstands-up 9:00 a.m. \nStops: Glen Haven General Store\, Walmart (Hwy 287 & 66) – end ride \n  \nRide waivers and information on riding with the NoCo IMRG can be found here. \n  \nGoing on NoCo IMRG Group Motorcycle Rides \n \nAbout Northern Colorado IMRG \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Chapter Ride for International Female Ride Day \n  \nEvery year\, on the first Saturday in May\, International Female Ride Day (IFRD) celebrates women motorcycle riders. The day also encourages and empowers other women to get involved in powersports.  NoCo IMRG Chapter members will ride in celebration of IFRD. \nOn Saturday May 4th\, meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Dealership with KSU at 10:00 a.m.  We will ride to Cheyenne and onto Happy Jack Rd for lunch at the Bunkhouse Bar & Grill.  Afterward\, we will continue on Happy Jack and make our way to Laramie.  From Laramie\, we’ll head south on 287 to Poudre Canyon (Hwy 14).  On Poudre Canyon\, we’ll go west to reach Stove Prairie\, then south to Rist Canyon.  We will end our ride in Laporte after traveling east on Rist Canyon. \nHappy Jack Road is a scenic route connecting Cheyenne and Laramie.  Along the way\, you will see a variety of landscapes\, including towering mountains\, and rolling hills.  Riding the route from Highway 287 on Poudre Canyon to Stove Prairie and across Rist Canyon is a scenic and adventurous route. \nThis IFRD ride route is 195 miles with an estimated 5 hours of saddle time.  Elevation ranges from 4.9K feet and 8.7K feet.  The ride is rated at 4-5 (1=easy; 5=hard) with some highway speeds and short interstate riding.  Also lots of curves in foothills and low mountain ranges. \n  \nGoing on NoCo IMRG Group Motorcycle Rides \n \nAbout Northern Colorado IMRG \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Motorcycle Skills Practice \n  \nRiding Season will soon be in full swing.  Many of us have not ridden\, or have done minimal riding\, for the last several months.  This will not be a formal training session\, but rather an open practice session.  We will still setup cone patterns for NoCo IMRG Chapter members to practice some of the slow maneuver techniques that Paul has taught us in previous training sessions.  The idea behind this informal practice session is to knock off some of the rust we’ve accumulated\, and to regain clutch and throttle control\, and remembering to turn our head and eyes in the direction we need to go. \nWe encourage all Chapter Members to come out and practice\, and start getting warmed-up for all the awesome riding this year. It doesn’t matter what your riding skill is – there’s no judgement – just support and encouragement. DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Road Survival Skills Training \n  \nPaul Carroll\, Northern Colorado Safety Advisor and certified motor officer instructor\, will host a Rider Skills Training session for Chapter Members. \nIt’s time to start thinking about getting your riding skill set back!  There is a GREAT Opportunity to do just this.  Paul will be teaching a skills session on Saturday\, March 23rd.  Start planning now to attend.  The skills course will start being set up at 11am. We will plan to begin the session at Noon and run until 2 pm. This will allow for warmer temps.  This session will focus on getting back to the basics. Paul will be working to get riders back to having their heads turning\, braking correctly\, making tighter turns and better handling of their friction zone!  This is a FREE session.   Come out and take advantage of taking control of your motorcycle and practicing so you are more prepared. We hope to see you there! \nTraining is at the Timberline Church (2908 S Timberline Rd\, Fort Collins)\, and will go until around 2:00 p.m.  Be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.  Also bring snacks to keep your energy level up. \n  \n  \nAbout Northern Colorado IMRG \n \n
