SUMMARY:*** CANCELLED *** NoCo IMRG Fort Laramie Ride
DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Fort Laramie Chapter Ride \n***** CANCELLED ***** \nDue to the expected cold weather conditions on Saturday October 14th\, intensified by the Wyoming winds and long distance travel\, the Fort Laramie Chapter Ride has been cancelled. We do not want to expose anyone to these less than fair riding conditions. In the meantime\, please stay safe and warm and hope to see you at our Chapter meeting on Saturday October 21st. \n  \n  \n  \nThe NoCo IMRG Fort Laramie Ride is this Saturday\, October 14th. We will meet at Ted’s Place (gas station at corner of Highway 287 & 14). Meet time is 9:30 am with KSU @10:00 am. This will be an all-day ride (7 to 8 hour day). Lunch stop will be somewhere around Wheatland\, WY. We will tour Fort Laramie and finish the day’s ride at the Indian Motorcycle of Fort Collins. \nThis ride will be about 330 miles\, and is rated at a Level 4-5 (depending on the Wyoming wind). \nFort Laramie was first established as a private fur trading post in 1834. Officially\, this first Fort Laramie was named “Fort William” in honor of its founder William Sublette. Fort William was replaced in 1841 by the second Fort Laramie\, which was named “Fort John” and also served as a private trading post. Fort John was purchased by the military in 1849 and officially was renamed “Fort Laramie.” Fort Laramie continued in operation until 1890 when it was abandoned. Fort Laramie evolved into the largest and best known military post on the Northern Plains\, and witnessed the entire sweeping saga of America’s western expansion and Indian resistance to encroachment on their territories. \n  \n  \n  \nGoing on NoCo IMRG Group Motorcycle Rides \n \nAbout Northern Colorado IMRG \n \n\n

SUMMARY:NoCo IMRG Glenwood Springs Loop Multi-Nighter
DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado IMRG Chapter Member Glenwood Springs Multi-Nighter \nThis will be an enjoyable 3-day\, 2-night Northern Colorado motorcycle road trip where we will experience some stunning scenery and diverse terrain.  We will ride on twisting roads with amazing mountain views\, and ride through many small towns. \nOur journey will take us on a 578 mile loop where we begin in Loveland\, CO\, and ride across the Trail Ridge Rd in Rocky Mountain National Park to Grand Lake/Lake Granby.  We will travel to Leadville\, and then a bit north to Red Cliff where we will spend the first night. \nOn day two\, we will ride south to Twin Lakes\, and then north through Aspen and into Glenwood Springs.  Glenwood Springs is the western most pivotal point of the ride loop.  We will have lunch in Glenwood Springs\, and explore the town.  Afterward\, we will continue north to Yampa to spend the night.  Day three will route us through Walden and over Cameron Pass.  We’ll ride through Poudre Canyon back home\, and end the ride at Ted’s Place. \nThis is a good time of year to ride motorcycles in the Northern Colorado mountains\, when the weather is warm and sunny. However\, as you know\, the weather and temperature can be unpredictable.  Be sure to pack your rain suits\, and have extra layers you can put on and take off to keep warm and to cool off. \nThe overall ride rating for this trip is 4 (1=easy\, 5=most difficult).  This is rated at 4 due to longer ride mileage (i.e. 200 mile days)\, and riding mountain roads with lots of curves.  There is also some interstate riding.  The longer riding distance and curvy roads will require extra energy and stamina\, and more advance technical skill to round the curves. \nItinerary\nThe itinerary outlines the starting and ending points for the day\, and lists some of the towns we will pass through.  The recommended hotel to stay for the night is listed along with the website of the hotel.  You can stay at the listed hotel\, or another of your choosing.  You should book your hotel room as soon as possible. \nDay 1 Saturday July 29th\n208 miles riding from Loveland\, CO to Red Cliff\, CO. \n\nMeetup at Jax (the West Loveland location):\n\n2665 W Eisenhower Blvd Loveland\, CO \nMeet time: 7:00 a.m.  KSU: 7:15 a.m. \nWe will be traveling over Trail Ridge Rd through Rocky Mountain National Park\, and must enter the Park before 9:00am (otherwise a park entrance reservation is required). \n\nRocky Mountain Park Entrance\n\nIf driving over Trail Ridge Road\, motorcycle riders may enter the park before 9 a.m. or after 2 p.m. without a timed entry permit. \nMotorcycle standard entrance pass fee is $25 (cashless payment only i.e. Credit Card). You can purchase the Entrance Pass online ahead of time at https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/fees.htm \nIf buying online\, be sure to select “Motorcycle” \nThere will likely be a line and wait to get through the Entrance. \n\nGrand\, CO\nGranby\, CO\nKremmling\, CO\n\n115 miles from our starting location to Kremmling \nLunch in Kremmling \n\nSilverthorne\, CO\n\nWhen we reach Silverthorne\, get on Hwy 70 for about 10 miles \n\nLeadville\, CO\nRed Cliff\, CO\n\n207 miles from our starting point \n1 night stay \nDinner in Red Cliff \nSuggested Hotel: \nThe Green Bridge Inn \nhttps://www.greenbridgeinn.com/ \n$189 – $209/night \nDay 2 Sunday July 30th (Happy 5th Anniversary Northern Colorado IMRG!)\n206 miles riding from Red Cliff\, CO to Yampa\, CO. \n\nRed Cliff\, CO\n\nBreakfast in Red Cliff \nThen start our 205 mile leg of the journey \n\nLeadville\, CO\nTwin Lakes\nAspen\, CO\nGlenwood Springs\, CO\n\n120 miles from Red Cliff \nLunch in Glenwood Springs \nHangout/explore Glenwood Springs \nGlenwood Springs is the western-most pivot point on our giant loop journey \n\nWolcott\, CO\n\nWe will travel on I70E for 42 miles after leaving Glenwood Springs where we will then turn north in Wolcott toward Yampa \n\nYampa\, CO\n\n205 miles from our start in Red Cliff \n1 night stay \nDinner in Yampa \nSuggested Hotel: \nTravelodge by Wyndham Yampa \nhttps://www.wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge/yampa-colorado/travelodge-yampa/rooms-rates \n$114 – $140/night \nDay 3 Monday July 31st\n164 miles riding from Yampa\, CO to Laporte\, CO. \n\nYampa\, CO\n\nLight breakfast in Yampa \nBegin our 175 mile ride home \n\nWalden\, CO\n\n76 miles from our Yampa starting point \nLunch in Walden \n\nCameron Pass\nRustic\nMishawaka\nTed’s Place\n\nGas station on corner of Hwy 14 and Hwy 287 \n578 miles \nEnd of our fabulous ride. \nThe route map of the entire trip can be viewed online @https://myindian.app.link/HlIzttwraBb \n  \nFor more information on preparing for our NoCo IMRG group rides\, click the link below: \nGoing on NoCo IMRG Group Motorcycle Rides \n \nAbout Northern Colorado IMRG

SUMMARY:NoCo IMRG Beecher Island Battlefield Ride
DESCRIPTION:NoCo IMRG Chapter Member Beecher Island Battlefield Ride \nThis ride will take us to the Beecher Island Battlefield in Wray\, CO. \nThe Battle of Beecher Island was an armed conflict between elements of the United States Army and several of the Plains Native American tribes in September 1868. Beecher Island\, on the Arikaree River\, then known as part of the North Fork of the Republican River\, near present-day Wray\, CO was named afterwards for Lieutenant Fredrick H. Beecher\, an army officer killed during the battle. \nThis ride will be around 380 miles round trip\, and of course\, will very much be an all-day event (~8 hrs).   While this is a flat-lander ride\, it is rated as a difficulty level 3 (1=easy\, 5=difficult) for highway speeds and distance.  Mark will be the lead with Randall at sweep. \nWe will meet @8:30am at the Fort Collins Indian Motorcycle Dealership with kickstands up at 9:00am.  Arrive with a full tank\, and empty bladder (remember the Dealership is closed on Sunday).  Bring food/snacks and water.  There will be several stops for gas and rest\, and we will stop at Subway in Wray. \n  \nFor more information on preparing for our NoCo IMRG group rides and skills training events\, click the link below: \nGoing on NoCo IMRG Group Motorcycle Rides \nThe Northern Colorado Indian Motorcycle Riders Group of Fort Collins is about riding\, socializing\, and having fun.
